I went today to the nursing home to see my childhood babysitter. She is in her last days and I recieved a call a few days back from a childhood friend who also stayed with her and this person told me that she was dying. I have been several times before to see her and each time I had to reintroduce myself to her but each time she seemed to enjoy the visit. When I went in today I got to see some folks I had not seen in some 20 years. I got to see my babysitters son who lives many states away and go to chat with him a few minutes. It was a nice visit and there was a lot of ministry opportunity there as well.
Well I guess that is all for now....

This coming Sunday Night we will have our childrens Christmas play which is called "manger Mania" and my wife has spent countless hours working on the produciton and we are excited to see this happen.
What about those Titans. Do not get me wrong I am a Miami Dolphin but I do like to watch the Titans (because where I live you do not have a choice). What a game and what a kick. The best thing is that the Titans are now going to extend Jeff Fishers contract and I think that would be a wise move for the men in blue.
I also would like to weigh in on the BCS National Championship Game selcetions. I myself thought that Michigan desreved it more that Florida but I am happy about the decision because as we all know the Vols hate the Gators and anyone the Vols hate I like.

I would also like to give all three of my readers a update on our church. On November 5-8 we held revival here at El Bethel Baptist. What a great meeting we had. There were 19 decisions followed by 16 baptisms. Since then revival has continued as we have seen 5 more professions and baptisms. The church has now had 21 baptisms since the first Sunday in September. I tell you friends God is good.
We also have just about reached our construction goal for our new "life center" the goal of 75k should be met by the end of December and construction to begin on January 2. The Lord continues to send us growth as we have be consistently over 100 in Sunday School for the past 3 months.
In other news I would like to address the firing of Mike Shula as head coach at my beloved University of Alabama. I can not say whether I agree or disagree with the decision because I myself am not sure. I do feel they probably should have given him another year because the Tide should be loaded next season. However since the firing has already taken place I want to give you my prediction on the whom the next coach will be. I think in reality it will be the head coach from Wake Forrest (I can not recall his name) However I think the Tide may shock the world and hire South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier. This would be great for the program and he is a definite proven ole' ball coach.
I just recently got a new computer for my church office and this should mean that I will be able to keep in touch a little better and make a few more post's.
That is all for now.

To say the least it was a full weekend but I would not have it any other way.
The Alabama game did not go as well as I anticipated and we lost. However I could not believe how well I took it. Ten years ago if Alabama would have lost I would have thrown Bear Bryant pictures in the yard and cussed and screamed at anyone who tried to talk to me. But now I just blow real hard and get over it. However let me say this we might loose 3 or 4 games this year but next year we are in the hunt for the National title. Roll Tide!!!!!!!!
Have a great week and Go Corker!!!!!!!!!

With my plate as full as it can get with a 5 day revival the first of October and a Youth Revival the second week of October I just want to thank the Lord for my wife and all she does. People often ask me why my wife does not travel with me when I go to visit or preach revivals and I always answer this way. Would you drag three kids in here to listen to their daddy who they hear all week?
.......
Alabama takes on Arkansas tommorow in Fayetville at 2:30 on CBS. I think this is a game we should win but will we overlook them because next week we go to Florida? I do not think so I say Tide 20 Arkansas 14.
......
Well that is all I got for know but I hope you a good weekend and ROLL TIDE!!!!!!

I have been gone a while and the first thing I want to do is tell you how God is blessing our church. The church has now doubled in attendance in the last year! We have been over 100 in Sunday School for the last three weeks! We had two to get saved this week and one baptized the week before! We have had to use the overflow rooms in our sanctuary for the last two Sundays with an average worship attendance of about 145! The Lord is blessing El Bethel Baptist Church.
In other news......
I am coaching three teams at the present time and attending Alabama's home games as well. I coach a 1st and 2nd grade basketball team. A third and fourth grade basketball team and a 10 and under soccer team. Plus pastoring a church. We have been so busy that wife has now decided to stay at home full time and keep our 3 year old son.
.....
I have not decided or not weather I am going to keep cool and nice on this blog this time or just let it go. If I were you I would bet on the second option.
.....
I just hope www.nashvilleistalking.com does not find me again.
......
Mike Reed is still a liberal and I do not know how he sleeps at night.
......
Scott does not sleep at night. (could you please tell us again how many hours you worked) (that is for calling me adopted!)
.......
Go Corker!!!!!!!!!!
